VACANCY: ACCOUNT OFFICER
Location: Ibadan, Nigeria (with local & international travel)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Account Officer to manage our financial operations and ensure accurate and timely accounting in line with JIT Groups’ objectives. This role is critical for maintaining the company’s financial integrity and supporting sound decision-making.
Job Summary
The Account Officer will oversee daily financial transactions and maintain accurate records for the company. You will prepare and analyze financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations. The Account Officer will collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and assist in decision-making. Your efforts will contribute to the financial health and transparency of JIT Groups.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily financial transactions and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy of accounts payable and receivable records.
Prepare, review, and reconcile financial records, bank statements, and ledgers to keep accounts up to date.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements, including month-end closing processes.
Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities with management.
Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, WHT, etc.) and company financial policies, including accurate statutory filings.
Collaborate with sales, operations, and other teams to resolve financial discrepancies and provide financial insights.
Monitor cash positions and promptly report any irregularities or concerns to management.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role (proven experience valued over formal education).
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (professional certifications like ICAN or ACCA are an advantage).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Familiarity with tax laws and statutory compliance (VAT, income tax, WHT, etc.).
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Experience in travel, real estate, or consulting industries is a plus.
