SCHENGEN VISA

A Schengen visa is a type of visa that allows travelers to visit multiple countries within the Schengen Area, which is a group of European countries that have abolished passport control at their mutual borders. The Schengen Area currently consists of 26 European countries which are  Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.

These countries have implemented the Schengen Agreement, which allows for the free movement of people within their borders without the need for passport controls. Travelers holding a valid Schengen visa can visit any of these countries during their trip without additional visa requirements within the Schengen Area. Including most EU member states as well as non-EU countries like Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, and others.

With a Schengen visa, travelers can enter, travel within, and leave any of the Schengen countries without the need for additional visas or border checks. The visa is typically issued for short stays for purposes such as tourism, business, or visiting family and friends.

It’s Important to note that a Schengen visa does not grant the right to work or study in the Schengen Area. The specific requirements, application procedures, and validity of a Schengen visa may vary depending on the country issuing the visa and the traveler’s nationality.

If you plan to visit multiple Schengen countries during your trip, it’s advisable to apply for a Schengen visa from the embassy or consulate of the country where you intend to spend the most time or the country of your first entry into the Schengen Area.

The required documents to apply for a Schengen Visa are listed below:

  • Photograph.
  • Schengen Travel Insurance.
  • Biometric Data.
  • Copies of Previous Visas.
  • Flight Itinerary.
  • Cover Letter. Proof of Financial Means,
  • Proof of Accommodation.
  • Proof of Paid Fee.

Applicants must submit a fully completed and signed Schengen Visa Application Form to the competent authorities of the Member State they are applying for a visa no more than three months before their intended visit. The visa application form contains 37 questions that each applicant must fill out correctly and sincerely, with no false statements. The form is available in different languages; however, the consulate will inform you which language you can use to fill out the application form. If the visa applicant is a minor (younger than 18), the application form must be signed by the parents or legal guardian of the child.

  • Financial support.
  • Familiar relationship.
  • Date and Signature.
  • Date and location of completing the application form.
